between 2 Peniche's
Spent 4 fun days camped up in the carpark at Baleal beach and hooked up with Hannah for a small surf and also Josh who's working in the local surf camp.. had some fun waves .. not very big but good fun on a longboard and a few clean early sessions and one lovely dusk session... loads of vans in the carpark from all over Europe.. although I think we were the only UK one.. most people just surfing and chilling, Everywhere in Portugal seems camper van friendly and so far we haven't been moved on... the local shops and restaurants etc seem to also appreciate the extra business it generates..
Peniche is a lovely place, with lots of different surf options.. a few spots all either clean or messy depending on the wind.. one should always be clean and working.. we opted to surf the non crowded windy options most times !! we also spent the afternoon at the famous SUPERTUBOS.. a great wave but was a little small when we were there..
Anyway after 4 days and a few wild days before we bailed and headed up the coast, we found a nice quiet site to sort the washing and regroup etc.. Set back from the sea for a change... so no waves.. although it did have a lovely swimming pool we made good use of !!
At the mo we're wild camped at another beach with a few other vans just up the coast.. We plan on being back in Peniche Sunday for a week when we have a visit from Claire's dad, It's a good base with lots to see and do and some fun beaches for surf lessons !!
Anyway.. will try and update sooner and not leave so long next time.. also attached a few more pics

The Green Coast
We've been slowly making our way down the North West 'Green Coast' of Portugal. The weathers been pretty good and we're having a great time. We've stayed on a nice campsite and done quite a bit of wild camping too which is great. There are so many wild campers in this area of Portugal and we have met some nice people along the way.
The swell has been a bit mixed up over the last couple of days so we have exchanged surfing for bike riding, body surfing and the odd sunbathing session on the beach. Claire's bike (Ermantrude) has a new basket after her's completely disintegrated and Barney found himself a girlfriend (see pics below).
Going to keep slowly heading South taking in some more of the beautiful beaches and hopefully some waves.
