Slack blogging…

Sorry for delay in the blogging of late… Claire had to pop back to UK for a few days for work and me and the Barnicle spent a little time on a site in the hills… nice pool.. but no waves… :((

Anyway….

Over the last few days we slowly made our way down to Lisbon… and saw some lovely places along the way ( see pics ) mainly staying at beaches and the odd campsite to refill tanks and catch up on laundry etc, We stayed in Guincho… good beach for waves.. although when we were there the on shores blew everyday and the windsurfers and Kiters were in wave sailing heaven ..

Once at Lisbon we expected great things of a place called Costa Caprica, just across the bridge and South a little… apparently loads of beaches.. some good waves to be had and a few cool campsites…all the guide books were pointing us in this direction... 

OH HOW WRONG THEY WERE !!! 

It was like a cross between the worst chavvy UK beach resort with the slummiest areas around it, literally mile after mile of horrible plastic permanent tents all crammed in on small campsites, hundreds and hundreds of cheap market stalls all selling exactly the the same towels and football jerseys !! stray dogs everywhere and we think what looked like the odd hooker roaming around!!

Needless  to say we drove straight through and headed South a little further…

We spent the night at a very popular and typically Portuguese campsite on a beach called Gale, Not overally busy but had lots of very keen Portugues campers… They really embrace the camping lifestyle and set up complete areas in which they have tables , tents, BBQ's , wind breaks, sun loungers, bat and ball area.. the complete home from home experience for the whole family… Grandma, Grandpa and even the Cat !

At the moment we are Beach camping at one of the many beautiful spots South of an Industrial town called Sines.. lots of other vans around and the similar kinda vibe to Peniche, but less surfers and more empty waves, the waves are small at the mo, but the swell is due and as we are heading South to the perfect spots and hopefully the timing will be right ::))
